Our Inspections

Wood-destroying insects and other organisms can cause severe issues with a house’s wooden framework and what is worse, these issues can go unnoticed for a long time.

Subterranean termites are the most harmful wood-destroying insects. They are hard to locate, and the damage they cause is usually noticed before they are seen. As long as they aren’t present in large numbers, infestations can be prevented through pest control services. Termites could be spotted before they have done damage to your home near a light source when they are swarming, so if you notice that you should take immediate action. Your home inspector will be able to show you other signs of a possible infestation. Finding termite wings left behind or shelter tubes built on the side of your home indicate that termites have infested a home.

Termites thrive anywhere wood touches dirt; they can hide in wood that is rotted and hollow. Walking around your home and tapping on wooden elements with a tool could reveal the infestation when sawdust falls out. You can also inspect wood with a pointed object, like an ice pick, to check for termite infestations or damage.

Control measures include reducing the potential infestation, preventing termite entry, and applying chemicals for treatment.
