New homeowners usually make these mistakes as they are excited about taking care of their new lawn. Check out these tips to help you take care of your lawn headache-free:

Let your plants breathe. It is essential to give your plants proper space in order for the necessary nutrients from the soil to be shared equally, as well as water and sunlight. Make sure flowers, trees, and shrubs are not too close together. Proper space will give them a chance to thrive.

Don’t cut the grass too short. Don’t cut the grass shorter than 2.5 inches because you might extend a few days not mowing the lawn. This could seriously damage your lawn. More frequent cutting of the lawn is going to be better in the long run.

Watch where your dog urinates. Did you know that your pets’ urine is dangerous for your plants? Your dog needs to be trained to do its business in an area where it won’t do damage such as an area where there is gravel or stone.

Be careful with fertilizer. Do some research before going to your local store and buying what could be the wrong type of fertilizer. Ask a professional to help you choose the right fertilizer for each plant. Always read the instructions so you won’t use too much fertilizer for your plant.
