Our Inspections

Home inspectors are trained professionals who know how to check the safety concerns, mechanical defects, and structural issues of a house. Home inspectors are different from electricians that are experts in examining electrical wiring or plumbers who can dig in and check pipes and septic systems. Here are the things that are not included in a home inspection:

Internal electrical components: Electrical issues that are found should be inspected by an electrician who is a trained expert on that type of problem.

Building code violations: Building inspectors are responsible for checking if your building complies with codes or regulations.

Home decor: Your home inspection report will not include any broken decorations.

Mold and pests: A home inspector will note/report the possible presence of molds and pests but they will not do remediation. It’s the home owner’s responsibility to hire pest control and mold remediation experts.

Wallpaper, paint, and other finishes: An inspector will check on walls and paint just to assess if signs are showing up that might cause health and safety concerns but not advise the client to change the color or design of a house.

Repairs: To avoid conflict of interest, your home inspector will never offer to do repairs on issues found.

This list should help you better prepare for your next inspection now that you know the things that are and are not included in a home inspection.
