Over the past year or so, we have become more familiar than we would like with the term “PPE”, or Personal Protective Equipment. In the early days of the pandemic, there was a shortage of PPE, and experts went back and forth regarding the need for it. However, PPE is not specifically a term for use during a pandemic. Especially if you’ve worked in an industry involving manual labor, you know that PPE is commonplace and encouraged for the safety of employees.
The fact is, though, that PPE is not just for use in commercial environments. Many homeowners have seen the value of wearing personal protective equipment even when doing mundane chores around the house. Basic activities like lawn work, installing appliances, or basic renovations can be safety hazards in and of themselves, and PPE can help protect you from those hazards. Why not take just a moment before beginning your “honey do” list this week to see if there are any opportunities for using PPE?
